Paint thoughts,
write paintings.
A journey that began in Trani in 1958 and continued at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bari, Molfetta's teaching and laboratory.
Figurative since the time of the Academy, Marino finds in Surrealism his genre of choice — admire the strong contrasts of Caravaggio and the dreamlike landscapes of Magritte and Dalì.
Graduated in Decoration at the Academy of Fine Arts of Bari in 1985, teaches in Milan, he worked for a few years in Monza and then returned to teach in Trani; in 1996 opens the Eugenio Montale Institute in Modugno with other teachers, which lends his work as director. In 2000 he is qualified to teach Art Education and Drawing and Art History.
Through different techniques — from woodcut to oil — he arrives at the paintings of the 1990s and 2000, with an increasingly realistic rendering, almost photographic. The research tends towards a symbolic surrealism that combines his "painted thoughts" with the mastery of the oil on canvas technique, which he prefers.
Capture, on canvas or paper, that brief moment when life unveils her mystery before returning trivial.

A place of work, of silence, of research.
The workshop is the place where the work takes shape — from the first idea in the notebook to the finished painting. Painting, restoration and attention to detail coexist in the same space, in a continuous dialogue between craft and inspiration.
Each work is born from a slow tempo and precise manual skill. This is where the tools are kept, the map, the majority in attesa, and the thoughts that will become works. This is also where the frames are made, created and personalized for each painting.
