The silk sea
Olio su tela – cm 60 x 60

Colors come from afar, smells and noises
that I recognize as mine,
like the road I always walked on,
like the air I've always breathed
and I turn to welcome them,
to free them from the dust of time that accumulates in my mind and tries to wrap them,
to fade them.
From the last vanishing point on the horizon, the sound of a sweet voice reaches me,
persuasive
that carries me, backwards, along the very long path of a thousand years ago,
when I ran collecting common places and I fell regardless of hurting myself
and I got up, believing to fly.
Slowly glide over my oldest memories, on my irreducible nostalgia
and I look at my heart hanging on the tenacious thread of my truths,
my heart that pulsates with light when it meets a dream again,
that turns off when it encounters a lost note.
Slowly glide over these thoughts of mine
and on the sea of my life that, like silk, it warms me
but it relentlessly slips away, to who knows what shores, or none.
Nearby I hear a sweet voice that seduces me,
I feel a hand that caresses, without getting tired, my melancholies.
Colors continue to come from afar, smells and noises
that I recognize as mine
while I dive into this black sky,
as deep as an unrecoverable absence,
a lost memory, a damned regret.
